Avoid Disturbing Visual Images In Your Bedroom

Your bedroom is not a cinema!  Watch TV in the living room and try not to have a TV set in your bedroom at all.  Choose your evening viewing options carefully.

Stress and sleep do not make a good combination.  If you are feeling anxious, stressed out or nervous, sleep will come less easily and may not be deep or restorative.  Negative, dark thoughts can cause violent dreams that disrupts sleep.  It is difficult to dismiss your thoughts.  Works problems, financial worries, relationship and family difficulties do not just disappear overnight.  However, avoid making things worse by watching disturbing images late in the evening and try not to thinks over or make decisions early in the evening.

Ban the TV set from the bedroom.  If you really want to watch something potentially disturbing, do so in the living room.  Sleeping in a different room will create a distance between the images you have seen and your night's sleep.  This separation of lcoations is important.  Try to create a positive atmosphere in the evenings before heading off to bed.

If violent images linger in your head as you are about to sleep, try a few simple relaxation techniques before actually going to bed.  Lie down, close your eyes, breathe deeply and slowly, and imagining that you are gradually dispelling all the disturbing images through your nostrils as you exhale.
